German conglomerate Multiline Group has articulated its interest in investing US$ 200 billion in garment and leather industries in Bangladesh, Bangladesh Commerce Minister Faruk Khan has said.Multiline is one of the world’s largest fashion producers, supplying to all leading corporate groups in Europe.
At the end of his eight-day visit to Germany, the Minister stated that during his visit to the European country, he met representatives of several German garment firms and the German government.
He said that Germany has shown keen interest to increase its imports from Bangladesh and also to invest more in the country’s readymade garments, jute and leather sectors, in view of the quality and services offered by Bangladeshi exporters.
